Еxpanding on the original story, my friends at Windy Press, including top artists Vlad Gerasimov, Nadia Doicheva-But and Eugene Arenhouse, legendary Brodway star Jim Dale, and more than 200 talents from all over the world, made this fairy tale come alive as a unusial adventurous musical e-book. I hope it will inspire our children to never be afraid of the dark and follow their wishing star.

It’s always a great feeling to be involved in something really new. In this instance, it is the very first e-musical. Far, far different to the musicals I have seen or been involved in. It is a new art-form. The result of years of work from inventive, dedicated, and far-seeing people. I’m one of the last packaging details, and I’m very thrilled to be involved. I like to record fairy tales on audio, because my voice can sound for many young generations, including even chidlren of my grandchildren. The only chalenge here is to select the right story. I’m pretty sure that “Who Stole the Moon? Puzzles of Mystery” is as right choice — for me and many other actors and singers, involved in the project, and for you, our dear listeners, as well.

Being a child of professional musicians, I remember how deeply I was influenced by music in my yearly years. This is why I was so happy when Disney proposed me to perform the theme song “Strong“ for live-action feature film “Cinderella”. Songs I recorded for “Who Stole Moon?” are extended my experience in this field. It was an honor to work оn this project together with such voice guru as Jim Dale. I didn’t push to make my style of singing too sweet — modern children live in a different, very dynamic world. At the same time I try to preserve the romantic spirit of the lyrics because each new generation has its own right for dream.

Once upon a time, I got an email from the UK, “Vlad, how about illustrating my story?” On the other side of the world, in Chicago, lives my friend Yuri Mezenko, a writer who grinds his teeth on the “traditional” publishing. We found that we were both looking for a way to try our hands at creating interactive books. First version of this app was recognized by readers worldwide, the press called it “an instant classic”. Now, when my life turned to another path, I’m glad that my friends from Windy Press bring a fresh breath to the project, creatively combining my old art with amazing illustrations by another artists. It is completely new book with many surprizingly rich features, new songs, voices of celebreties, etc. I’m happy to be a part of it.

Preparing to the Sleep Fairy’s role, I often listened the voice of the famous actor, also involved in the project. Once, my son, Erik, asked me: “Mam, are you gonna record the Harry Potter audiobook?” No, I smiled, but I will record “Who Stole the Moon?” together with Jim Dale, the same wizard, who performed all Harry’s audio books for American kids. I like this unusual app which harmonically combined together a fairy tale in over twenty languages, the colorfull art, educational games, songs and even hints for parents. Everything that your child might want consists in this one book-app. Obviously, this ia a new way to introduce modern children to literature. I can’t wait to see my son’s reaction to this amazing project.
