Windy Press International is a children’s publishing and production company headquartered in Chicago, USA. We combine the enduring appeal of books with the creative possibilities of digital storytelling, inviting children to read, discover, and learn.
Our mission is to nurture a lifelong love of reading. For generations, books have brought people together, shared knowledge, and opened windows onto other lives and cultures. We carry that tradition into the digital age, creating reading experiences that inspire young minds and give families meaningful time together.
Developed in collaboration with child psychologists, writers, and educators, our Educational Synergistic Reading System (EduSIRS) brings together engaging stories, animated illustrations, audio performances by celebrated artists, original songs, educational games, and projects for parents and children. These elements work together to encourage children to explore each story through words, music, play, and conversation.
By bringing the features of EduSIRS together, we enrich each book with layers of cultural meaning. Stories, illustrations and music complement one another, inviting young readers to discover different perspectives and explore the connections between words, images, and sound.
Our mission is to preserve the traditional book for the new digital world, encouraging young readers to open it for pleasure and learning. For six centuries, since Gutenberg’s invention of the printing press, typed word has served as a link that has united generations into one, inseparable civilization. We want the book to retain its social and educational values, especially for children.
To reach this goal Windy Press in cooperation with child psychologists, psychotherapists and educators developed the Synergistic Educational Reading System (SERS) for interactive literature. It’s an innovative formation of engaging texts with animated illustrations, star-studded audio theatrical performances, original songs, educational games and projects for parents and children to complete collaboratively.
Collecting multiple languages all under one cover, our book-apps are fashioned to introduce them to early readers and through education bring children together over the borders. With the touch of a finger, they can switch from English to Spanish, from Spanish to French, German, Russian, Chinese, and so on. Usually, each book includes around thirty of the most widespread world languages. And, of course, you always have a choice — to read on your own or listen to a professional voice artist.
The abundance of beautiful songs and instrumental melodies especially written for each Windy Press book makes our editions unique “book musicals”. There is even a karaoke option if you or your child want to sing along!
All these features, based on SERS and organically united in the book, allows to create a web of multiplaying cultural meanings and synergistically build empathy, enhance creativity, foster imagination, facilitate a bond with family, instill communication with peers, and bring up a never-ending love for reading.
